Wink Celebrating a new camera (And orchids)

Hi... I just bought a new camera... Its a Nikon D90 and I'm really impressed with it!... These Phals are from my brother's father in law (He is just getting married!)... He brought us a really beautiful basket with lots of lilies and anthuriums... I removed the phals (as I love them!) and put them in this vase I bought (handcraft from Shahrekord, Iran)...
I took the photo in midnight... Total Darkness!... Used LED flashlights to expose the flowers... You can see the light trails on the vase... I tried to photoshop them away... Its a 13 second exposure... I took a lot of test shots and this one came out to be the best... I hope you like it ...
P.s: Too bad we can't GRAFT orchids!... These flower stems have lots of dormant buds...

That is a great shot! I just read the process in the other thread and when I get time this summer, I would like to try this technique.

    Cheers,

I read a lot of good things about the D90 and almost bought one...then I decided to get the D300...both really good cameras.

    That picture is great!

Thank you all!... (Salam Zain!... Wow so nice to have a common word!... God bless!)... I thought it'd be great to combine something new (the orchids, in Iran of course!) with something old (the pottery)... Glad you liked it!...
I'm going to submit more photos as soon as my plants bloom since I think I've found my favorite genre of photography!...

Mohsen, it is fun too how you are bumping back up the older photo topic posts. Orchid photographs have a lot to do with the Forum. (Bruce, thanks for figuring out how to keep the photographs accessible and so clearly viewable.) I gave my wife a Nikon P80 for Christmas and it is amazing what one can do with it compared to my old timer Visioneer MX 200. The MX 200 is 2.0 megapixel camera that supports 2x Advanced Stepless Digital Zoom. WOW right??? Joe

No problem! I do what I can to keep things labeled and tagged for future visitors and members.

Wow!... Now we have 12 megapixel mobile phones!... But I'm good with that!... As long as new orchids come!... Better gear to photograph better orchids!...
