Default Phal-Big Box rescue- something is growing there?!

I bought this phal from the big box couple of months ago as one of those not doing well... kinda thing... Following advise given here in one thread I cleaned the roots and repotted (after holding it for a couple days bare root). She is happy and doing good. She still had couple blooms left when I got her and I cut the spike, but there is something growing... I don't know what that is and is still a little thing so it doesn't look like anything to me yet, but I am very excited!!!

You've got a nice new root there! Good job... to get it to bloom will sometimes take a drop in temperatures at night. Be patient, when it is ready it will spike for you. It looks very healthy!

Connie, this little thing is comming from the spike (or what is left from it...) I was thinking it will be either a keiki or may be new spike growing from the first one?!

My first impression is a root. The way it narrows near the end, the texture, and the purple tinge near the green tip, it looks like the gravity-defying roots my phals get. Keep your eye on it. Soon you will know for sure.

I would guess root as well, but if it is growing from a spike, who knows! lol Orchids keep us guessing....
