    Default Epicattleya Nebo

One of the fancier reed stem orchids. The plant is nearly identical to an epidendrum radicans.
The plant also inherits the hardiness and resilience of the epidendrum parent.

The stems produce less flowers compared to an epi. radicans but the flowers are almost twice as large.
The flowers are also oriented with the labellum down, compared to an epi. radicans that always has the labellum on top.

Here's a typical reed stem epidendrum flower for comparison.

Margo, Do you think the babies might grow sideways? That would be a neat trick!

That is a cute flower. I like the fact that it grows with the lip down. Seems more balanced.

    Cheers,

What a gorgeous orchid! I also prefer the lip at the bottom and the colour is beautiful! Thanks for the photos and the comparison shot.
