In actual fact, Bettas evolved in a part of the world where there are lots of small pools of water and, because they can take oxygen from the air, the water they live in can be quite stagnant--I understand they have been found in the wild in really small pockets of isolated water. The colors of Bettas are stunning, aren't they? Gorgeous, Darren! I, like many others (I suspect) on this forum, have kept tropical fish. I wonder how of us have done so?
