Hi, Joane! Welcome to our group! Where is the spike broken- mid-way or at the very beginning? If it's in a half you can cut where the break is and put it in a vase- some of the buds can still open and the first part can put out a new spike. If broken at the very beginning I would cut it and put in a vase and then wait for a new one (will take time... it won't be tomorrow...) We would love to see a picture of your phal. 5 spikes!!! WOW

Good advice from Margo, Joane. The spike in the vase will probably last a while unless the buds were damaged. Welcome to our community!

    Cheers,

Welcome to the forum. I also look forward to seeing pictures. Oh, it is okay with us if you go back and purchase another orchid with intact spikes. hehehehehe
