    Default Sydney

So today didn't really feel like a winter's day... in fact it was 19 celsius (~66F).

Anyways, my pups and I went for a walk across the road at Sydney Park. This is where we walk everyday and I'll tell you what, at 6am in the morning, it is never this bright nor warm!

Anyways, thought I'd share a couple of pics of what it was like today..

View across the park towards south from the highest hill -

and the view north, from the same hill... looking towards the city -

and finally this is always the first plant in the park to flower.. this is Australia's floral emblem... the Wattle -

well, that's Sydney Park and it's views...

    cheers
    tim

Tim, it is the height of Summer here and it is 61 degrees ! Sydney certainly looks a beautiful place. I'd love to visit Oz, but couldn't handle the long flights

Yes, I imagine your arms would get too tired. Course you could take a plane..... LOL

We've had a strange summer thus far here. Temps are up into the 80's one day then a high in the upper 60's/low 70's the next. On the plus side - for me at any rate -- haven't had any horribly hot days.

Nice pics, Tim! Australia is on my wish list of places to visit. *sigh* Not an inexpensive venture though between airfare, food, lodging, entertainment/sightseeing.............

Great shots, Tim. It looks great. I love the shot looking towards the city. Such a beautiful cityscape that Sydney has.

    Cheers,

pavel, with the current exchange rate & the tourist office desperate to get peple here a word in the right place might be surprizing on the help you can get.
( ps, don't go to Sydney come to Melbourne )

Great photos. Long flight hours court disaster especially for the elderly (ahem...) in terms of DVT (deep vein thrombosis).
Reason for travelling while young (but less money too!).

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone... it's ocertainly nice to have this environment to live in... and yes, i understand how far away we are... but that's just a great excuse to have a lot of red wine during the flight over (which helps with the DVT )

and for those contemplating a holiday in Aust.. why not visit both Melbourne and Sydney... both have such wonderful places to see.. (Roy, will be down in Melb for the orchid show in August.. are u going to it?)

anyhooo.. spent the day across the road again... i'm thinking we aren't really having a winter...

so another view of the city from one of the other hills..

these are the chimney stacks... Sydney Park use to be a brick kiln and many of the bricks used around Sydney was actually made here..

and a closer view of one of the lakes...

    cheers
    tim
