    Default Cactus seedlings

Ever wonder what a cactus looks like when it first sprouts? Here are pictures of some that my husband started from seed. We don't know what kind they are, only that the seeds are dull black, shiny black, and wrinkly white respectively. The first two pictures are the two types of black seeds about a week after the first one sprouted. The second picture is the white ones about two months after sprouting.

I think my husband would like that. He's quite proud of them. Thanks everyone for looking.

I like the last picture. When the seedling pop up they look nothing like cacti. However, in the last picture I can see the beginning of spine development.

This is so cool, no idea they would look like this either.
Congrats to your husband on growing them from seeds.

Very cool -- give hubby a pat on the back from us. Interesting how they do not look like cacti at all when they first sprout
