Anyone ever had to deal with fighting Fusarium fungus in their collection? I had to discard about 20 plants yesterday that all looked like the picture of health-some in bud others in spike-it was hard. When I cut the rhizome to inspect, there was red in the rhizome and some with the tell tale ring around the rhizome indicative of Fusarium..... any fungicides that would get rid of it?

yes, everything looked healthly, big specimen sized catts, some in bud, many in sheath, in garbage. Nobile dens, den phals gone. Specimen szied walkeriana gone. I suspsect that I purchased some plants with it.
One way to fight fusarium is to lower the temperature... These fungi love hot and dry conditions... But perhaps you should first get some microscopic samples (with a good amount of cotton blue!) to make 100% sure its fusarium... It has multi-walled, crescent shaped spores and round, thick walled cells known as clamidospores which act as survival parts... Good luck...
