They get the same treatment as my cattleyas. Bright indirect sunlight. (we have very bright sun, all my plants are under 90% shade net, still if I do not add another layer of 50% shade net in summer, the plants turn yellow, its that bright!)
They get water through the year, no rest. The summer temperatures are in the mid 100s and winter minimums are in 50s. Hope this helps.

    thanks amey,

i know my twin brother was asking you, but as it goes for twins, i have the same problems!
hmm, i tried 3 different locations for my plant here, and nothing worked!

i guess those "mules" dont like the "ron's".

Amey, this is really pretty... great colouration and the shape seems pretty filled in.

I really love it, and it's not often that we see those mule ears in bloom. Well done Amey.

Hi Amey...I just LOVE your mule ear oncidium lanceanum! I need help/advice on blooming mine. It is growing well, has maroon spots all over the leaves and is very healthy. I have it planted in LECA, which it seems to like. How do I get it to bloom? I had assumed that it's getting enough light, since I see tiny maroon spots on the leaves. Any help you can give me would be most appreciated...Betty

Amey, this flower is not Trichocentrum (Oncidium) lanceanum. Lanceanum has a solid colored lip (no spots) and the margins of the lip are smooth. This might be Josephine, as mentioned above (Haematochilum x lanceanum - 3/4 lanceanum, 1/4 luridum)
