    Unhappy cymbidium Elliot Rogers

My boyfriend bought a Cymbidium Elliot Rogers Orchid for his mom last MAy and she let it sit in water ... its dried back out... we placed it outside. It rained so? Well it has lost much of its leaves I will take a picture and put it on here asap. does it have a chance??? We are living with her now and want to save it.

Hi Mendobelle... first off, welcome to Orchidtalk.

With regards to your cymbidium, we'll hopefully be able to provide more info on how to 'look' after it after the pic... also, if you can, maybe unpot it and take photos of the root system as well..

one thing though, if you still have what looks like bulbs which are green (they might be covered by brown sheaths though) then there is still a chance... it might take awhile to get it to blooming size again, but it may still grow....

look forward to your next post...

    cheers
    tim

Ewwwhh! That's rot! It had a wee bit too much water! But there may be hope. Keep it on the dry side for the next few weeks and see if it tries to recover.
