    Default Mastigion fascinator

Does not appear on the list of Philippine orchids, although Mastigion putidum is there. But, what gives? The photo of Mastigion putidum is labeled as Mastigion fascinator in IOSPE. Are they synonyms?
The bloom is almost a foot long.

That is a strange and wonderful bloom... all of that purple and pink fringe is really cool.

It was seperated from Bulbo in 1994 but Mastigion is now a synonym and it is back in Bulbo. It was even in Cirrhopetalum for period of time.
Leave it to the lumpers and the splitters...lol

"The photo of Mastigion putidum is labeled as Mastigion fascinator in IOSPE. Are they synonyms?" no they are separately accepted species.
Jay's site has many errors; he does as best as he can with the little funds he has.
