    Default Phalaenopsis Cornu-Cervi

I wanted to share a picture of one of 11 orchids I bought on line. They just arrived last week and I couldn't believe how well they were packed and what great condition the plants were in. I will share more pics of my new additions over the next week. This one is my first attempt at a mini Phalaenopsis. The name on the tag is Phal. Cornu-Cervi, (on the invoice it is Phal. Cornu-Curvi) Any advice on growing this guy would be appreciated. I also bought a Phal. Violacea v alba but the spikes on it are still very small. I wish I could focus on just one type of orchid but I can't and my collection of 77 orchids is getting to be quite varied . I am afraid to think of what will come home this weekend from the orchid show. LOL Bill

Bill, Congrats! Very nice addition! I know the name is phal cornu-cervi, but can't help with any growing advise. If you search the name here you will find many posts. This one is still on my wishlist, but have to wait again after getting 7 more flasks today.....(oops...lol)
And make sure you take lots of pictures at the show to share with us!!!

Nice choice Bill, cornu-cervi is a species and you should find quite a lot of info on its cultural requirements online.
I'm also awaiting a delivery from an online order this week, quite excited - the unpacking is a real enjoyment!

Phal cornu-cervi is a great species-you are so lucky. I grow mine like the rest of my Phals and they do great. Nothing special about culture if you have other Phals. Some people say to grow it a little drier and a little more light than the typical Phal, but I don't do anything significantly different. My regular colored plant bloomed all summer and still has 2 flowers .

Nice Bill . I have two of these guys. Treat them like all other phals except for light. They seem to grow and bloom better under stronger light than others. I keep mine around oncidium level.
