    Default "New-Fangled" Vanda Holder

I looked at everyones' pics of their hanging plants (esp. the vanda types) and then decided I needed to figure out something a little more "me". lol I had alot of ideas and fixed on something old, yet so amazingly perfect for my vandas. I will wind the misting hose up the middle, once the water hook-ups are done, but for now here is the new Vanda Rack...aka...hat/coat rack. I found one in metal that someone bumped and dinged so I got it for very little. I will coat it with something like rustoleum paint to keep it from rusting. I have to wait for now and leave it like this until every-little-thing gets done on the room. Apparently, this may take a little longer than anticipated, but so far the room has worked better than I ever dreamt it would! I used my points to order a weather station (and potting bench!), and the room is hitting up to 80 on sunny days and at night it gets to about 65. My husband actually suggested leaving windows open in the family room and it has done great keeping the temps perfect at night. Thank You for all your help, without my RVO friends and all your suggestions and pictures, I could never have attempted something on this scale!
Thanks Again! First; the Vanda Rack

As you can see, I had good roots on this phal. before, but now they are going insane!

Even one of my compact baggie baby catt's is thriving and growing roots! If it blooms for me I may just have a "happy dance" moment! I know you all know how bad I am with these. And this has Orange Nugget as one of it's crosses...I will keep my fingers crossed.

Wow! What a differance greater exposure to natural light makes with plants. It's looking good, Connie!

I think those clothing racks on wheels they use on photo / film shoots or whatever would work well actually.

    nice setup.

That's great, Connie. I use rolling racks for my vandas in the winter. Easy to water in the garage and roll outside on warm sunny winter days. Got mine at yard sales but they are inexpensive at the box stores. The coat rack is really sassy - I like it!
