Lucky for you Randy, you may acquire more of these species.
Someday I'd like to acquire a Cymbidium cyperifolium from Palawan.
Last time I have Cymbidium chloranthum but it was attacked by scale insects so I left the plant neglected due to I'm far away from home...

    Thanks Bruce
Hope I can keep these important species preventing them from extinction in the Philippine wilderness...

    Hi Ron,

As for Cymbidium lancifolium, they are part ground lithophytes in the deep rainforests under the tall trees where much fallen leaves turned as organic matter for sustenance to ground orchid genera like Calanthe, Plocoglottis, Spathoglottis, Paphiopedilum, Phaius, Vandopsis and Cymbidium (aliciae, cyperifolium, ensifolium, and lancifolium) and others. They prefer stony media with some course media of organic matter like chopped Cyathea fern fibers mixed with part gravel. They like to be drained and cool off their delicate roots, they hate to be wet feet. They need partial light and shade and also cool and humid climate.

As for Cymbidium dayanum, they are epiphytes and also lithophytes. You can treat them like Cymbidium (atropurpureum, bicolor, or finlaysonianum), and it should be well drained. They dont like overwatered and their leaves tend to become shorter, they prefer moists media not also wet feet.

These are my opinions of raising my Cymbidium (lancifolium and dayanum).

    Thanks,

    DC
