A Mtssa. Royal Robe "Jerry's Pick" That I picked up for the price of the pot it came in , is starting 2 spikes! I got it last september and grew 2 growth on it, now spikes are starting. I'm so excited.
One Q-- are they prone to leaf burn? It seems to be pretty sensitive to my HID lamps. I moved it a little further away from the center because they leaves were getting semi- scorched. I wasn't too sure how much light to give them in the beginning so I think I cooked them a bit. Oh well, they spiked, so I'll live with a bit of leaf burn.

Sounds like they are more on the Brassia side when prefering light. Miltonia usually can take Catt type light but Brassia are on the medium to medium low light levels.
Congrats! Once in bloom, they can last a really long time.
Mtssa. can be kind of weird in my experience when it comes to light. I have two - Aztec 'Toni' and Dark Star 'Darth Vader'. Outside last summer, they didn't seem to mind quite a bit of sun at all. I had no problems with leaf burn. Inside, with natural light and CFL's, Toni seems to like it on the shader side, but Darth can take anything I throw at him. Both out and inside, they do seem to like a lot of water.
