Default Dendrobium Lori's Star (Dawn Marie x Lori Tokunaga)

I bought this one at the AOS show at Longwood Gardens last March. It was in bloom and the flowers seemed to almost last forever. I summered it outdoors in some morning sun and it put out 3 new growths. I moved it to my basement grow area in October. Temperatures range from 55 to 60 at night and 60 to 65 during the day on average. It has only 4 buds this year. 2 opened while I was on vacation. I hope I am growing this one correctly. I really love the form and color of the bloom. I water it once a week. Any care suggestions would be welcome. I really would like to see a little heavier bloom on it in the future. Should old canes be left on?

I would suggest more sunlight...usually the more light the more flowers. When mine had a nice East facing porch they bloomed, but poorly. Now that they are on the back of the house with strong afternoon western exposure I am getting buds galore. The only change would be their sun levels.

Yes, I would agree. Also, don't remove the old canes until they are no longer viable.

    Cheers,

Then I should continue growing these in cool temps with a cut-back on water in the fall/winter and just increase the light?
