Default Orchid garden in my living room

Here's my little collection and where it lives:

    Closeup of the plants:

The bloomed-out phal is one I just got (on clearance, for $7!), so I can't take credit for that, but I have new shoots on a lot of my larger plants already so I should, hopefully, get some this year. And the light outside obscures it for the most part, but the roof next door which is just out my window is covered in snow, which is a pretty awesome contrast to the scene inside.

Victoria, living room orchid gardens are the best....I have one myself actually. Having the orchids that close really is nice for me.

I like your watering tray setup, I still carry every one of my orchid pots to the sink for watering time. That prolly simplifies things quite a bit. I'm sure the "light garden" type window setup helps with plant vigor as well.

Sometimes I wish I had kept my addiction simple like your's it would have saved me a lot of heartache, plus I probably would not be heading to the Tokyo Dome show tommorrow. The trouble with these big shows one sees things one feels you cannot live without even when the plants sometimes cannot live with you.

You know, I still carry them to the sink anyway, because I like to run the water through the pots long enough that even the tray isn't practical for that -- I'd have to have a 5-gallon bucket or something at the drain spout. It's really nice to have the large humidity reservoir, though. I like having them right here, too; in fact, I don't think I'd want to get into orchids in a way that meant they'd be in a separate building, not just because I, uh, can't afford a greenhouse of any sort or even a place with a lawn, but because I'd miss them.

Yep....part of the novelty and enjoyment of orchids for me comes that I have them around. Not only do they have great character and nice blooms, they decorate my rooms and clean my air. Good stuff.

    Default Tropical feeling

I love having my orchids around. They are all around my house right now. During the summer they are out in my unheated greenhouse. I have to admit that I do miss them in the house.
