    Default Aeridinae Pteroceras unguiculatum

I read somewhere that for a feel of tropical paradise, plant an orchid in the Aeridinae subtribe.
    It's true.
Mine are attached to a Christmas Palm along with other types of orchids. This Philippine species doesn't demand much attention aside from its reglar daily watering and the occasional fertilizer. Flowers are fragrant but are fully open for only a few hours in the early morning. And that's that. As the sun gets hotter, the flowers begin to close. They don't re-open fully again the next day.

    Thank you Tom and Connie.

It's not really that huge Connie, maybe it's just the photographic effect when taken up close.

    Hi Randy.
An Tiruray vendor just happened to pass by about 8 years ago and practically begged me to buy this plant so he could call it a day and go home to his village. I bought two plants for 40 pesos each, I think. Haven't seen him since.

Very nice flower indeed. Its NOT an Aerides though. If you remove the word Aerides from the posted name, then you will have its correct title.
