Cool Are regular spiders considered orchid pests?

Are regular spiders considered orchid pests? Will they eat the leaves? I'm curious because it appears that one has taken up residence in my mini-phal. Small web and all. Should I shoo the scary little guy away?

Spiders are carnivores and won't eat your plants but if you don't like the look of the web send him packing.

That said, spiders eat bugs like little grasshoppers, etc that do eat on orchids. I would leave the spider there since they only make webs where they can catch food.

Just a thought, is it a regular spider?? When I find webs on my phals, most often it is spider mites and that isn't good news. Those you want to kill as they will make your plant sick. I'd get out the magnifying glass and do some investigating....
