It's my first time that it blooms with such short stem. In situ this species grows on stone.
Gorgeous ! I just love mounted plants !
That is such a cool looking mounted orchid. I like the way it grows. Nice.
Cheers,

Hi Zuoxin
A beautiful plant. I have seen various Thunia mounted, but not Alba. It is interesting to see the more squat growth on mounted Thunias. In soil or mulch they so get a lot taller and more robust.
Some species grow epiphytically in the wild, but more often lithophytically or terrestrially I have seen.
Good growing
Brett
Nice alba form. I always thought Thunia are terrestrial.
check the thread I made on T. bensoniae and the pics
Zuoxin, this is so beautiful plant: I especially like the colour of hairy lip. Have never grown this species before, baybe it is time to do that.
Generally Thunia can grow as epiphytes, but need lots of moisture when in growth or the will be short caned. They will still put on a good show though and dop well
I have seen this species on bare rock in in-situ Myanmar, and again short canes. When terrestrial in Nth Thailand, it had long canes and a bit better blooms
Brett
I know, that Thunia can grow as epiphytes, but I prefered the coulture in the pot.
very lovely plant indeed!
