Default Bolopetalum Midnight Blue 'Cardinal's Roost' in bloom

Not my first time blooming this cross, but it is the best result so far. I know Bolleas get just one bloom per spike while Zygs can get ten. I don't know what this guy's potential is. I know there are other growers of this cross here; maybe someone can tell me what I can aspire to.

There are two spikes, one with three blooms, one with two. All but one of the buds are open now. They are unruly and hard to photograph-as you can see, one is going sideways.

Just lovely, Angie! Is it a warm, intermediate, or cool growing orchid? Am I correct in assuming that it is fragrant? Good growing & blooming...Keep it up! Betty :-)

The info I have says Intermediate. It grows for me indoors on an east facing windowsill. I have read that it is fragrant. However, I have never been able to detect a scent.

Congratulations on your success. I love mine. It has bloomed twice for me since last Fall and is in bud again. I currently have two bloom stems one with two and one with 3 buds. I have had up to 9 per stem. I grow mine cool also. I have had a hard time detecting a scent also even though everything I read says it is scented. Love it anyway for the color and the long-lasting blooms.

Nine per stem? That would be awesome!

Gosh, I love this color. Unruly and hard to photograph? An orchid? Never... hahahaha You did very well. I especially like the second shot with the buds.

    Cheers,
