    Post Creepy peloric paph?

This isn't one of mine, but I happened to be browsing around online and I stumbled across this bizarre paph for sale. Now, I generally LOVE peloric orchids...I have two fully peloric phals that have beautiful triangular shapes in the middle (much like a Lycaste), but this peloric paph just creeps me out for some reason.

What do you guys think? Beautiful? Grotesque? I have to admit my reaction was, surprisingly, complete revulsion...and I LOVE paphs!

I've seen a paph like this for sale. I won't tell you what my first thought was upon seeing the pic....only that I wonder what happened to his legs!

Wow, that is a strange slipper orchid. Never seen one quite like this. How odd. I'm not sure what to think.

    cheers,

I cannot say if I like it or not as a Paph flower, but I definitely find it interesting, much more than semi-peloric Phals for eg. It would definitely make an interesting plant to study flower development.

Did they find this near Chernobyl? Such beautiful colors on such a grotesque malformation!

I've seen that paph before. ICK. It conjures a memory from my childhood on the farm--just like the ground around the loading chute when a new load of bull calves gets converted to steers. At least that's the only place ive seen where such things might land together in groupings of three. . . Not sure what the rest of y'all are reminded of when you see those three things hanging together. LOL

Can't say that I care for it...and like you, I often like pelorics. Oh well.
