Thanks again guys. I got this on ebay from a grower in the central coast here in New South Wales Al. This is the first time it bloomed for me but I think it might had bloomed before as one of the old leafless canes seemed to have a small bit of what my have been holding a spike.

Very beautiful.
Thanks for the reply Carl. I have purchased a lot of orchids at auction and by following a few simple rules I have been very satisfied with the results. I have had orchids shipped to me and also terrestrial tropical plants and the orchids fair much better in transport. I am thinking that this Dendrobium will be my final purchase until spring has sprung.Again beautiful stuff Carl!
Al, I would be interested in the "rules" you follow dealing with online auctions...You can P.M. me ( private message me. ) Thanks, Betty :-)
Lovely ! The yellow is so beautiful !
I have noticed this one being grown in baskets, in Thailand ; but there are so many similar Dend. species, that maybe it wasn't this one anyway. The basket suits the leaning outwards habit , but maybe it's only really suitable if you get up to a fair number of new growths, and hence can hope for several flowering canes. But having thought my way through this far, I hink I'll try out my idea on a few of these species - these very hard caned jobs like a long dry rest , and the basket will help with that.
