I love seeing where and how others are growing their orchids. In a basement with grow lights? On a windowsill? In a sunroom or Florida room? In a greenhouse? Post a photo of your main (or one of your main, if you have several) growing area(s).........
I'm starting this thread so we can all see how adaptable orchids are to a variety of environments and conditions. (See the disaster/help section for how unadaptable they are to a variety of environments and conditions!)
Here is the end of my living room at the sliding glass door, East exposure.

I shouldn't be posting pics anymore because I don't have a proper digicam, so I apologise for the crappy pics.
The first pic is a part of my grow area on the roof ( forgive the algae, pics was taken last summer in the middle of rainy season) The second pic are the 2 hallway (small) windows where I grow most of my Phals and my few Paphs. The 2 Phals hanging above will go outside on the roof in early summer when they are done blooming.
heres where my orchids stay when they're in flower. i just added my laelia anceps this morning.
Very Pretty grow areas . The pictures are the inside area it used to be an attatched garage , we took out the door and went out several feet and put in the windows and redid the area . The Paphs , specie Phals , Phrags and seedlings are there and my birds . I will take some of the greenhouse when it quits raining . Gin
VERY NICE....keep 'em coming. I'm very jealous of the sunroom/greenhouses. This is my mission, like most growers ---> to have a greenhouse. Actually, for myself, I really would like an attached 'greenroom' that is 4 seasons and is integrated into the living spaces of the home, rather than necessarily a stand alone greenhouse, but since I don't have either, I'll take whatever I can get. For now, the pic's will have to suffice.
Can't wait to see more....

These growing areas are AWESOME! I love seeing all the ingenious and nicely laid out setups!
Here is the green house I still have the plastic on it . The cement patio was there when we bought the house , a friend gave us glass panels out of show cases he had , they are seperated by treated 2 by 4 s stained . there are 3 sliding patio doors bought used one on each side, the north wall is solid . The size is 12 by 16 ,as always not big enough , a screened in porch connects the green house to the house . The rail road ties in one picture is where I am going to put a lath house for the Vandas .
