This is the time of year the Cattleya maxima really shines here in Southwest Ecuador. The alba are just about done, but the other color forms are in their prime!
Mabuhay!
Wow, just in time for the new year. congrats!
nice collection of this beautyful Cattleya.
A large farm, would be very convenient for them to sell the new year
Wow !!! You have so many !!!! Lovely collection !
Wow, what a show! Lovely to see all the different varieties.
Fascinating ; I didn't know there were quite as many as that different forms. I have a mere half dozen mostly of the "typo" with only small variation . In fact I don't think some of the others, comparable to L.purpurata "carnea" and "Werkhauseri" have been commercialised by the people who sell catts to Europe.
Loving these cattleyas and the phrags you have shared recently. Two of my favorite orchids.
Cheers,
BD
Extraordinary variety... what a sight!
Is C maxima the National Flower, or am I thinking of C.skinneri and Costa Rica ?
