Some pictures of orchid plants
First pic is of the Society display - which means plants which have not been entered in the competitive classes for one reason or another - often because only one entry is allowed per member per class, so e.g. I put a two-spiked Vanda in the appropriate class, and then my small but very brilliant-coloured Vanda Pachero's Delight I put here - and cause some difficulty to the member arranging the diplay since it didn't fit well with anything else . In the end he just put it slap bang in the middle.
The 2nd and third pictures are views of the long table containing the 15 or so classes . It was too crowded to see plants properly, and it was necessary to walk round and round several times seeing them, even then it was so easy to miss the smaller things.
The last pic is of one of the plants on the Society stand , a Paph Harold Koopowitz ,the best one I have ever seen. Those flowers are a good eight inches span, and the spike was maybe 2 foot six inches high - this was shown by one of our V-Ps who, as a matter of policy ( on his part) does not enter the competitive classes in the Society at all - it gives ordinary mortals a better chance, since this is the standard of cultivation he achieves with all his paphs.
More pics appear in the individual forums withb thgreads headed Baptisonioa, Cymbidium , Dendrobium, Cattleya, Coelogyne, Sarcochilus, & Stenorrhynchus , and some of those are plants also shown on the Society stand..

No - I was outclassed generally- got a couple of 3rds, and a second, but won a silver pot for best South East Asian species - Renanthera citrina ( which you have seen - it was opening its last flowers on the day). I have a dozen other pics to put up, but made a mess of loading them, and will have to start again tomorrow - Dendrobiums sanderae, spectabile, kingianum etc, also some more paphs, a couple of Catts, a Ceologyne etc etc.
