    Default NOID Paph

Picked this up at SEPOS last week. NOID but it was so lovely, I couldn't resist it. Picked up one more in bud. Good price on each of them. These are my first Paphs. Sorry about the shadowing, but I took it in the hotel with a bad background.

There is no way to be sure of course, but your Paph is very close to Paph Macabre. Any number of hybrids with a strong background from Paph callosum and Paph sukhakulii could look much like this though. Any of these should be vigorous and easily grown. The strong colors, bold markings and broad synsepal make yours a very nice choice.

Thanks. I looked at some pictures of Paph Macabre and it is very similar. However, there were multiples of the same NOID with no id on the table, and it looks like they may have come out of a compot where the tag was lsot. The other one I bought is a complex hybrid with hsinying in it. Same size and many in bloom, but I got one in bud to lengthen my enjoyment.

What a nice slipper, Paula. You may not get the exact name of this cross, but it is a lovely orchid.

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone. I kind of go by "A rose by any other name is a rose" philosophy. I really liked the bloom.
