I said, when I introduced myself to the forum, that my previous experience of trying to grow orchids made Chicago on St. Valentine's Day look like a picnic.

However, my first ever 'home grown' plant is in flower. Not impressive like a Cattleya or Paph, in fact very small and sweet (bit like OH) but it is my first one that I haven't bought already in flower and I am very proud of it. I am taking OH out to dinner tonight to celebrate. Hope she remembers to bring her purse.
