What beautiful blooms! If you don't mind me asking: What is the white stuff? AND what is its purpose? New to this wild ride!

it is cotton wool stuff, you know? like filter wool for a fishtank...it prevents the spike from damaging itslef on certain things....

Very fine flowers Jordan. This is also going to be a fairly big plant when it grows up, with the possibility of a lot more spikes in its future. AL

thanks Al, i hope i manage to keep it till then....... i have a habit of selling/giving away orchids that aren't thriving.....here is a pic of my Oncidium flexuosum on a Ponga chunk mount..........im just waiting on a flower spike from the newest growth, but it looks set to send out another growth tip. Before i went to clean up out there a few weeks back, i noticed the damned thing had started to attach itself to our fence! you might be able to see some roots in the pics, but i just pointed and shot, cause it was about to pour down!
