Talking catasetum Chong Keng Yong (ctsm bound for glory x ctsm susan fuchs burgundy chips)

my first female catasetum and the best part is i got a male blooming concurrently. so it will e their wedding day this evening,
i will be posting the male flower from the last bloom together as well. i guess the insect did half of my job already where one of structure (forgive me cause i do not know what is that white structure covering the stigma called and any help here would be appreciated) had been removed- in the third picture

i am so sorry there is some typing error in the title of the thread i just submitted, dunno how to change the title, it only allows me to edit the content, here is the correction
catasetum Chong Keng Yong (ctsm bound for glory x ctsm susan fuchs burgundy chips) and NOT ctsm jumbo pearl x susan fuchs burgundy chips.....sorry about this, i guess i was too carried away by the first female catasetum flower of mine

That little cap on the pollen and tip of the collumn is simply the anther cap. A very ingeniuos construction i would say! To be honest, i rather prefer the female flowers, although, there is no doubting, the males are indeed colourfull!

the "pollen" that you mentioned is actually not the pollen, the structure belongs to the female flower. i just asked the nursery owner here. he mentioned that it cannot be used for pollination and he too is not sure what is the exact name for the structure. anyhow i inserted two pics here showing after the male pollen (yellow) had been pollinated.
thanks for the comments en Mazlan and Jordan

Maybe its a stamen cap? since you have the anther cap on the male blooms, maybe the stamen cap is for female blooms? there seems to be no reason for it really does there?

The male flowers are certainly strange, but I quite like them! Both are beautiful Best wishes on their "marriage"
