Is this an orchid spike or a keiki

A few days ago I saw a new growht on my Asco. I have no idea what it can be. It certainly is no root. It doesn't look like a root at all. It's green and growing up. Although it's all the way down at the chid. Can any one tell me what it can be? I hope a spike of course, but I'm not sure. I did enclose a photo. Hopefully has any one any idea. The photo is not to sharp, because I took it with my phone camere.

keikis are pretty rare on Vandas and Ascds. If the tip stops growing, maybe crown rot for example, a new growth often emerges and takes over as a substitute. You don't show the iop , but quite often you can't see that this has happened even when you can see the top. The "rot" merely takes out the growing point, does not spread..
Spikes come from leaf axils ; you may have lost a leaf there and this is coming from where a leaf axil used to be, but that doiesn't often happen either ; most usually spikes come from leaf axils where the leaf still is..
Most probably then it is a root.

The top is still there, and is even growing a leave. There used to be a leave there, but I did cut the leave because it had a sunburn spot. so therefore the leave is gone now. it does not look like a root.

Just guessing and only time will tell, but it appears to be a root to me. The thickness and the blunt end as well as the location makes me guess root. I hope it is a nice spike though!!

Yes I sure hope so as well. The strange thing is that it looks totally different from the other roots. Those are red, and a different shape. Well, I guess I have to wait.
