Using the expression dominant in regard to the color of Guarianthe aurantiaca was a mistake. I should have used the expression "we should find at least traces of the color in a cross with a cream and light pink flower". No doubt that C. loddigesii is very strong and aurantica may not be dominant. In the case of Ctna. the dominace is even stronger. In a hybrid in between C. aurantiaca and Ctna. or Broughtonia sanguinea the dominant parent is always the red parents and not the orange or yellow.
I never did see a C. amethystoglossa or a Guarianthe aurantiaca with an elongated, curved down tube and column as the Cattlianthe aurantiglossa in the game. Guarianthe aurantiaca and C. amethystoglossa have short straight forward oriented tube and column. Further both parents have the lip straight forward and not bend down or even bend backward. The lip coloring on C. amethystoglossa covers the whole lip as it does cover the whole lip of Guarianthe aurantiaca. The Cattlianthe aurantiglossa in the game has the identical color pattern of C. intermedia var. orlata.
In my previouse comment I forgot to mentioned the shape and the size of the flower. C. amethystoglossa has small (7 to 8 cm) compact flowers. Guarianthe aurantiaca has very small flowers measuring 2- 3 cm only. It seems that he Cattlianthe aurantiglossa in the game has a normal C. intermedia size (8 - 11 cm) and look at the shape. It isn't similar to C. amethystoglossa nor C. aurantica. But very similar to C. intermedia.
The spots are also more likely to be from a C. intermedia than from a C. amethystoglossa.
