Connie, you bring up a good point. I have seen things thru the lens that I had not seen. How many times I have taken a shot and then discovered a mealy bug or other critter!!!

When I went out today there was a snail in one of the vanda's roots. Sometimes it's when I'm shooting, but more commonly after I hit the zoom on the picture. Especially the tiny crawlers...always lets me know when it's time to spray again. My neighbors have to think i'm bonkers. lol There goes that plant woman with her camera again...

same goes here, LOL. except most of the time my hand is holding a sprayer.
and never thought taking a root photo could be so much fun, thanks for the starting this thread.
here is one of my catasetum orchid's air roots
