Hello forum members,
I have not posted in a while but that should change as soon as my remaining three spikes bloom, which should be soon. So my question is this, what causes leaves to open with clear sides. The edges of a few of my new leaves have been clear and of course the clear part eventually falls off. Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. The are Oncidium alliance orchids (hope I am using the term correctly)
Regards,
Miller

I wish I had taken pictures but unfortunately I did not. It happened on a few new leaves, but imagine when I new leaf if unfolding that narrow strips down each side are perfectly clear then turn brown and flake away. I have never seen that before. Another thing I noticed is that a couple of my PB on the very same plant are deformed, the top of the pb is bent under itself so the leaves are in a permanent crinkle state at the top of the pb and bottom of the leaf. The plant seem healthy otherwise with two spike with flowers about to open. Hope that description made some sense! LOL
Wish you had taken some pictures. Never had this happen to me before.
Well after reading through some older post, I suspect I may have been over fertilizing. I am going to buy some fertilizer specific to orchids and cut down on the concentration of the fert. Thanks for the replies,
