Default NOID Stanhopea is a wardii??

This is one of the stannies given to me by a friend. The only ID on the tag was the number "9194" and it's finally bloomed. Looks to me like it could be a wardii? Flowers in these photos are just opened, actually a yellow-green with red freckles. They're 4" in diameter and VERY heavily scented of butter mints (the scent is nearly overpowering). There are two dark reddish-brown "eyes" on the flowers.

Anyone else vote for wardii? This is my first Stanhopea to bloom, and I'm not very familiar with all the varieties.

    Superb blooms.
I,m not familiar with Stanhpea but it does look very much like S. wardii.
I,ve always been put off by the short life of the flowers but they are beatiful.

    Hi Sdahl,

Here is a thread where Louis posted a photo of our Stan. wardii. They do look similar.

    Hope it helps!
