My most expensive orchid was Lc. Acker's Spotlight 'Pink Lady' which was blooming size--$30. I usually try to pay less than $20, the cheaper the better, even if the plant is five years from blooming, but this one has a nice fragrance (C. aclandiae is a parent) and I didn't have any other pink orchids. This will likely remain my most expensive plant.

Jayfar, love the post about Phal G. Thankgod the plant is in spike and inclusive of shipping. I would never of considered it otherwise. Will have to retrieve the $5000 ????? hidden under my mattress.lol
300,000? thats not too much if your considering a high class sports car. 650,000 is about average, Aston Martin DBS
I am considering upgrading soon too....i find the A7 sportbacks guzzle the gas, and at 2.70NZD per litre, it isnt cheap! Perhaps one of the new S7's or a Q7?
about 5 pounds is my limit I am afraid! I dont think I have anything that cost more then that but I look for bargain basement "finished flowering" or young plants. I have some lovely things in my collection, masdevallia paivaeana, dendrobium atroviolaceum, sophronitus purpurata, and loads of fantastic noid phals..
I believe I paid $75.00 plus shipping for my two Rynchostylis (retusa and coelestis) about a year ago. Both were blooming size and healthy so I was happy. All my orchids and tropical plants are mail order with just a couple exceptions. Few local purchases here in New Mexico are possible. There are times where I am more concerned with shipping and handling charges than the price of the plant. Some of the orchid vendors are very reasonable and some are high on these charges. AL
I find the shipping charges a little tough sometimes as are the delivery times. I bought some orchids from Madeira and the delivery time was going to be 25 days!
Hi guys i am baffeld of what i see here. Why you are all so stingy???
I didnt say you buy bad plants, but when you want some plant as a collector there is no limit, i cannot further elaborate
