    Default Who grows gingers?

I really interested to hear if anyone in the North grows these and actually gets them to flower. You South-type people can comment too.

Got my first one Hedychium coronarium last year. It grew, but never bloomed. We had a really cold summer so that might be part of the problem. I've added a few others this year:

    H. coronarium 'Luna Moth'
    H. gardnerianum
    Zingiber zerumbet

How should I be treating these?

    *gulp*

...um...I just planted a wild ginger division from a friend, but I don't know what its fancy party name is. It's moping about a bit, even though I'm watering it daily, but it is newly planted and we've finally had some hot weather in the last few days.

    I'm useless for pointers, though.

Maybe an Asarum canadensis? If so, it will survive.

Sure. That must be it. It has pretty green leaves that are sort of round. Must be it.

Probably. Did you see the flowers on yours? Right next to the ground?
