You'd have to grow it as a houseplant much of the year, Jonada, but other than that you could do so. Over the winter you would be unlikely to get much if anything in the way of blooms unless you had a VERY sunny warm window for it to reside.

Yeah Tropical hibiscus are not good in the winter they can only with stand temps above 40 degrees. If should bloom if inside in sunny window. I have some of my collection under t5 lighting and they bloom for me. The key is to give them proper fertilizer.

Thanks, Jonada. Glad you like it that much, if only I could give you some. Well, you would need a lot of sunlight and heat. I wouldn't know about Wisconsin, but in Cotabato the average hottest daily temperature is 32 degrees Celcius and would fall to only about 24 deg Celsius at night. And all of my hibiscus like that, even if they are in full tropical sunlight all day long.

Well, they could summer outside, but would have to spend the winter inside or in the greenhouse (which I don't have yet).

I have since bought a new digicam and this is a more accurate representation of the color of this hibiscus.

Me too, Angie. It was my first time to see one at a small nursery beside the national highway while on my way to my grandpa's farm three years ago. I didn't even buy it but the vendor snapped off some cuttings for me.
