    Default Hello everybody

    Hi guys,
I am glad to be back!
I did not read the forum for a long time, but I missed you guys. Let me show some of my plants which bloomed recently or are blooming now.
Stanhopea wardii bloomed first time one year ago with only one flower. It bloomed in July 2011 with 4 flowers, and in August with 7 flowers on a spike.
These pictures were taken on August, 18th, 2011

Welcome back although dont think I was a member back when you were here previously. Your Stanhopea is just brilliant and beautiful. Only did my visual check on my stans yesterday and if they flower half as good as yours I will be happy. They look to be very happy at home in your garden. This is one of the few orchids I love to grow for the lush foliage aswell as the bloom.

The only secret is more shade than for other plants. I keep the Stanhopea on my conservation area under trees... very shady... I am not very good about feeding my plants and often forget to do it. When I don't forget to fertilize, I use Jack's Classic 20-20-20 , alternating with "Bill's Best" /Plant encourager, every one or two weeks.

Such amazing flowers Stanhopeas . from some angles, (some) look ugly , but when well-grown like this who could possibly use such words ?

Wow! Talk about a complex, out of this world form. I like this and the subtle color/markings on the blooms. Nice going and growing. AL
