Nice bonsai tree you've got in the center. Is that juniper or spruce tree, though not sure ...

Just wanted to share a couple of shots of the orchid crowd, celebrating the first rain Atlanta has had in weeks. I think between us, we managed to get every single orchid under the rain showers for a good long soaking.
I figure there's about 2' x 6' that actually gets rain on our deck - think about it....
We all are much cooler, more comfortable, and happier at the moment! And grateful, too!

I too like putting plants out during a rain. Doesn't happen too often -- many times the rain strikes the opposite side of my apt building so my balcony stays dry.
I like Phillip's bonsai on the top shelf.
Love the mixture of your no1 choice and Phillips no1 choice. Adds a great touch with the range of textures and shapes and colours. We all individually create a unique vision all of our very own that no one else has even iif it is specialist.
I move as many out as possible when I know we have nice rain showers with no lightening coming. It's a job, but it's worth it as the plants love it. I like your set-up. Very nice and orderly. I get mine that way from time to time...usually when we have company coming. lol
So beautiful and so well maintained. Your orchids love you Maura!
cheers,

Mabuhay!
Your orchids are so healthy and clean. Congrats!!!!
That should perk up the plants - the rain and the beautiful view. I spy a couple of 'aliens' among the orchids.
What a really nice collection. Congrats to the both of you!!
Just a word on the large Bonsai in the center. That is a 35 -40 year old Bald Cypress - Taxodium distichun, It was collected in Ssouth Georgia around Brunswick, There are several others in there as well, but none as developed as the Bald Cypress. Aren't the orchids lovely though? Phillip
