Thanks, everyone...I knew about Little Black Sambo, but not Milton Carpenter. I love the mini cymbidiums, but cannot find any that are heat tolerant...I keep this one outside where it gets high light but not mid-day sun. However, right now it's on my dining room table where it's scent is filling the house... reminds me of peach cobbler! Betty

It was grown in dappled sunlight...only had shade at mid-day. Betty
Betty, it's lovely! I was hoping to discover a couple of heat tolerant cymbidiums! Little Black Sambo has been on my list for a while now anyway, and now this golden beauty! Thanks for sharing!
Betty - Just bought several crosses and couple of species. Can you tell me how you grow? What sort of medium, ect? I'm excited about these heat tolerant Cymbidiums.
I'm also extremely interested in warm tolerant cyms - have been for years, however, our vendors here only sell NOID cyms, so there's no way to tell their parentage to confirm whether they are warm tolerant. Could you tell me the names of the warm tolerant cyms you just bought? Might help me to identify them if I ever stumble upon any of them.
Yew Sung...the few are below. I know I would love to find Little Black Sambo and Devon Wine. They both do really well in south Florida.
Chen's Ruby
Diane Falk
Nut
pendulum
aloifolium
I have mine planted in a big, 10 inch plastic pot. ( it is HUGE! )I use the standard mix...medium size fir bark, perlite & charcoal, and I add some peat moss to the mix, as cymbidiums like to stay slightly moist. It is in a very bright spot in the greenhouse now, but it grew outside during the Summer. It got dappled sun except 11:00AM to 1:00 PM when a big tree shaded it. The blooms stayed on the plant until now...about a month. Betty :- )
Thanks so much Betty!
Thanks Cathy.
