This really caught my eye because the shape and especially the colors are somewhat similar to my Miltassia 'Royal Robe". I can tell it's not that, but it looks to me as if it has a good bit of Brassia in it, and the leaves, from what I can tell, resemble Miltonia leaves. What, if any, do the pseudobulbs look like? And about what size are the blooms? I would never say I could id it, but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a hybrid from the Oncidium Alliance. No doubt there are other who have far more information and experience than I do. It's very beautiful and I hope you do get an id!

Here is a picture of the pseudobulbs and the bloom is 3x4 inches. I really like the color and the form.

Always hard to ID exactly, but my guess would be Mtssa. Royal Robe 'Jerry's Pick' HCC/AOS. It is a lovely orchid, one of my favorites.

    Thumbs up

After looking at your link, I am sure it is exactly as you said. The bloom is the same. Thank you.

I honestly can't tell what the pseudobulbs look like - and Kathi, I agree with you that it closely resembles a Miltassia Royal Robe - but both
'Jerry's Pick' and my "Abby's Wonder' have blooms more like 5-6" across and even longer down - and the lip on this one is extremely prevalent. It would be good to know if Gabriela's plant has the subtle patterning in the petals. If you have a Royal Robe, you are very fortunate, and it amazes me that such a well-known and awarded orchid would ever come without an id.

The colors are really hard to show in a digital photo, but you could compare the shape, etc., with the miltassia in the link below.

I never remember how to inset the link, but this is it, anyway.

Yes, sorry my photo wasn't better lit/positioned, but yours looks just like 'Jerry's Pick' does in person. It is a great orchid, and the blooms just get more plentiful & bigger every time it blooms...very vigorous plant.

Beautiful coloured miltassia. Could be Royal Robe or hybrid of it.
