A couple of questions due to winter weather arriving -

1) I have 2 standard cyms, one in bloom, one damaged during my vacation, but with one sad little spike. I think the one with the small spike was damaged because it was brought in to a basement under growlights when the temps reached the 40s - forgot to leave specific instructions for that.
In any event, it's been around the 60s during the day and high 40s to 50s here at night, so I've left them out since I first got home. But as of last night, it's now in the 40s during the day and low 30s at night.

At what point should (can) I bring them inside?

2) All my other orchids were moved inside about 4 weeks ago, since few of them like temps below 50 and I didn't want to risk freezing them to death. The problem is that they're mostly in my southern window in my living room (and under growlights) and the drop in temp at night in here is only from about 72 by day to 68 at night - even close to the window (which is double paned against heat loss). I have a central thermostat, so I don't have access to any "cool" room space. I think the fans help, but I'm afraid it's not enough. I know orchids don't like drafts, so I'm not sure opening windows would be the right thing. Atlanta is usually pretty mild until now, and will start warming up again in February, so I just have to get them through 2 months like this.

Anyone have any ideas or comments? Thanks.

FYI...Most cymbidiums can take temperatures down to 28 to 30 F. ( mine can ) Night before last, it got down to 28 degrees here in N. E. Tx. and they are fine outside. If the spiking has already started, it will continue. Some blossom booster might help...At least that what I would do. Good luck.
