Default Epc's - normal black tips on leaves?

I remember reading that it's normal for some Catt's to get leaf spots. Can anyone clarify if these are normal or cause for treatment? A few leaf tips turned black since the last watering. Though there were a couple that had minor spots or black leaf tips on the plants early on and did not change. But now with all these new ones suddenly appearing and I'm not sure if the older ones are spreading I don't know if I should be worried. Other than minor summer sunburn I'd been doing pretty good with these (meaning haven't killed them).

I think the 'normal' spotting refers more to the sort of reddish 'freckles' that some get in high light situations. My purpurata has those spots and they do look exactly like freckles. What is shown in your photo looks more like fungus or sun/chemical burn. I have this occur occasionally...I just cut away the affected area and dust with sulphur. Usually, I spray with a mild fungicide just to be safe.

Agreed. Use a clean razor blade and cut away the black tips. Might be from too much fertilizer salt build up in the potting material.

    cheers,

Thank, I'll trim and treat. I'll do a good flush more often too.
