Agreeing with Maura here. How could you harm these poor little ones. But yes, when things warm up I do think he has a moral obligation to ensure they are rehomed properly.

Thats AWESOME Phillip! And good work Maura I have been looking for one of these to grow for YONKS, BUT when i do find one, it is way out of my price range. Bruce, can you maybe disguise one as a xmas decoration and send it my way hehehehe.....

I do know someone who has one, but it isnt sending spores for some reason, but anyway, it is about 6ft high, and about 3.5ft wide, by his estimate anyway! He has had it for 40 years.....

Thanks, Jordan! I will tell Phillip of your very nice compliment. His stag is still a toddler - it's about 18" long (measured from the frame towards you) and
about 8" high - but it's still very cool. They have one at the Conservatory here that's about 10 feet - now that's a giant! I'll photo it for you the next time I go. Phillip won't be home soon, but maybe before Christmas, and I'll be sure to decorate it for him - thanks for the idea!

That would be a sight to see!

Nice to see you back, Amey. You've been gone a while.

I am only an associate member of the Pteridophile ** community , so don't know/can't remember if I ever did know (!) , the section/division etc name for stag-horn ferns. But I don't think we have to be too specialist do we ? E.g we say "lithophitic" and not alkali metal sedimentary stratum -lithophilic for a plant growing on limestone ; so lets just say that any orchid growing on any fern is pteridophilic.

Information overload ? - no, you are just being modest Maura.....

I second that, with enthusiasm! Amey - I have a new sesquipedale with 4 buds on 2 spikes - waiting for Phillip to come home and hoping it will bloom fully before I kill it - BUT - you would be so proud - the old sesquipedale that we repotted and chopped up has a spike and 2 buds as well! I guess they like being unpredictable.
