after suffering through 4 unpaid hours of a school christmas "party"... i was bolted for the door as soon as the boss wasnt looking...straight into the loving arms of the early morning flower market, one i normally dont go to cuz its across town and closes by 11am... i just managed to catch the last few vendors as they were closing and spotted this lovely little one from singapore. they could only provide me with the chinese name but promised to email me the proper id as soon as they had a minute... i also managed to finally find a bromeliad i have been looking for since i landed on this island!! all for about 6us$ yeah!!!
...and Little Squirt, the guardian of the balcony...

Vanda Trikim?
It looks like it might be a cross with holcoglossum kimballiana in it??
I love it! Beautiful!!
and I love the Lorry
I'm bumping this to separate from the others...
Can you type the Chinese name in?? Someone here might be able to translate. I would love to know what it is.
let me see where i put the tag she wrote down for me... it likely wont help much cuz they tend to just give em names that sound real nice in chinese but dont correlate much to the actual given name... but hopefully i can find that tag, if i do ill do the legwork and find out what it is. the guy told me it is a new release out of singapore
...ill go dig around right now
I'm still thinking it might be V. Trikim (V. tricolor x H. kimballiana)
it could very well be or at least that is one of its parents, we get so many new crosses over here flooding in from all over southeast asia, often times they havent been registered ... and lots of em are even slightly "borrowed"... one of the few good things about not being a recognized country ;-)
Love whatever it is!
Just beautiful. Can't ID it but the flowers do remind one of Holcoglossum
Great looking vanda hybrid!! Love the balcony guard too. Looks to have a great personality.
Cheers,
