Actually, to my thinking, the two encyclias look very much alike. Lip on the phoenicea is more pink than rose. Sepals are also a rusty/rose hue. The one thing I DO like is the CHOCOLATE fragrance that the enc. phoenicea has...Betty

I would, however, rather be locked up in a hot car with an E. cordigera for 3 DAYS rather than with this for three minutes.
Saw, and smelled this Bulbophyllum at the Orchid Conservatory yesterday. I know you'll know the taxonomy - I call it Bulbophyllum stinkyum - ughhhhhh! (But such a pretty bloom!)
