    Default Peloric Phal.

Was trying to find some crushed oyster shell for my Paphs when i thought i,d have a look @ the orchids. These are normally pretty ordinary.
I was surprised to see huge white & pink Phals. Some of the flowers were in excess of 5" but the flowers are almost round , not my cup of tea.
Spotted this 1 & was surprised that it was peloric so i bought it because of this.Plant itself is not particularly brilliant but i,ll shove into s/h & see if i can bring it into good shape.

It does look animalistic! Like the gaping mouth of a big-cat about to devour it's meal... Also it has that other-worldly feel to it.. a bit Dr Who'ish you know when they are going through time travel swirls...

So, seeing as Oz use to be part of the mother country... I think I should get the first keiki

    Nice haul Steve.

    Cheers

    I love it too! I wasn't thinking a wild cat, though...more like a velociraptor!

    Great find Steve!

Just noticed something. If you save the piccie to your harddrive & then blow the piccie up you will see what appears to be a leopards head pattern in the middle of the lip.

That is a great find! My friend (who I single handedly brainwashed into being an orchidholic) loves phals and grows them very well. I found a beautiful peloric one (with the colors she has been searching for) for a steal of a bargin. I actually find the peloric ones more intriguing than the rounded ones.
