AtantaR, Clivedude,
I am 4 days short of 3 months since i transferred my orchids into S/H.
A lot has happened since then, and I learned a couple of things as well.
Never transfer an orchid into S/H before the warm weather kicks in, and also i placed all my orchids in non-clear plastic pots because the algae was giving me a hard time especially since there's no Physan 20 here in my country.
Updates, the Phal in the water culture didn't show any signs of growth or any new roots, so I threw it away.
One of the new Phals died a week after I moved it into S/H, all the roots became rotten, I blame the timing and the genetics of the plant.
On the other hand, I acquired 4 Cymbidiums, 2 pleiones, 1 Calanthe, 1 Cambria and are all now in S/H. They are all doing well and showing signs of growth. 3 weeks ago, I moved the 11 orchids outside for spring.
One Phal took very well into the new S/H medium and has new leaves and new roots, and the old old phal is in bud now, the Oncidium has a new pseudo-bulb and the roots are amazing. I also attribute the new growths to my new fertilizer (TaHtso) and my seaweed supplement (Kelpak).
here are some pictures for you.
