Cool growing Paphiopedilum species?

Well, if you've seen my Bulbophyllium thread, you probably know that I'm best equipped to grow cool growing orchids, so after doing alot of research, and reading a great deal of conflicting info online, I'd like to know if anyone has any knowledge about cool growing species of Paphs, or ones that can tolerate winter temps of 54F nights and 73F days at least.

You can grow majority of Paphs(if not all) in the temperature range. I wish I could keep it that warm in winter for my warm growers...
Paph. armeniacum and Paph. micranthum like/need cooler temperature, especially in winter.

Insigne, villosum and their hybrids, almost all complex hybrids (bulldog type), fairrieanum and a few other species from this section except exul and druryi.

Any idea id lowii or rothschildianum would be ok with that? Those are others I heard like it rather warm.

Absolutely. I have grown and bloomed lowii and roths under your temperature range or even cooler than those in winter. A mature roths actually needs cooler(down to the low 50s at night) and brighter condition in winter to bloom well.

That would depend if your temperature range is throughout the year or only in winter. Lowii, roth and other multiflorals grow best (and fastest) under warm conditions.

paphioboy, this is his winter temperature range we have been talking about. It seems he only worries about cooler winter temperature.
